When I first signed up on Etsy, January 2018, my main reason was to list the jewelries I made and start making stickers to sell online. Unfortunately, I couldn't start a business with them because they require you to link a bank account and that time, I did not have one. June of 2018, I opened a bank account and linked it to my shop right away. Yay!
October 2018, I made my first sale --- sticker. Funny thing was, we were away for our three-day vacation. Luckily, it was just three days. So, I got back on time to ship the sticker.
The evolution of my shop's name. At first I was thinking, maybe I should incorporate my sewing skills. And since I like to describe myself as "maarte", in a crafty and bratty way, I thought of OhSewArte. But then, 2020 after acquiring my laser machine, I ended up not making any sewing products anymore, more on laser engraving and laser cutting acrylics and wood. Since it is going to be my shop, why not use my social media accounts username, elagalagirl. Ela - me, galagirl - sounds like our last name, at same time, gala girl also means wandering girl. But how did I end up with byGllghr? I did because my shop isn't my own, it is ours, my husband's and mine. I have to give credit to my husband as well. Without him and his support, I wouldn't have my laser machine and vinyl cutter. I know I want to start a business of some sort, but I did not know which business to venture. I'll admit I did pitch him about the machine, but he would not buy it if he did not believe that I could do it. So, yes, we are sticking with byGllghr. Periodt.

I may have an Etsy business account but this isn't a full time business. Maybe because I have not found one item that will need my full attention. Who knows? Also, there are other things in the house that keeps me busy, two of those are chores and kids. :D Something every stay-at-home parent will understand. But, I know I really, really, really need to make time for my business and list more items than what I have there right now. As of July 1st, I have sold 184 items, three of those were outside the US. Nice! And so far, the reviews were amazing. I never ask for reviews but every time I get a notification that I have a new review, I get anxious. I did not even wanna look at it. Yet after seeing the positive reviews I get, it felt amazing. For my work to be recognized, my customer service to be acknowledged, it makes me feel proud about my workmanship, and appreciative. So, if ever one of my customers get to read this one day, let me tell you all this:
"Thank you all for the support. Like the note I always include in my receipt, I appreciate doing the transaction with you. I am an emotional person. Every item sold, the products I make, I take it to heart. I am grateful that you chose my shop to do the transaction with. And for that, thank you so much!
Also find me on Facebook and Instagram. I'll be honest, I don't post a lot there, or anywhere really. I am just so so busy. There are so many things that occupy my time, especially these past years. But I am trying to be more active on social media. I am trying to manage them wisely. LOL I need help, I swear. I can't blog nor post regularly, even in my personal account. I don't know how other people do it. I need tips and tricks, please.
Anyway, as always, thank you for stopping by and reading my not-so-special article. Always have a wonderful day. And don't forget to smile. :)

You work hard. Be proud of yourself.
