I have taken upon another challenge that sounded so exciting, yet scary at the same time. Ela have entered the sublimation world.
Sublimation - the transition of a substance directly from the solid to the gas state, without passing through the liquid state.(source: wikipedia)

As a glowforge owner and a glowforge community member both on the website and social media, I have seen so many people posting about their beautifu artwork that used sublimation. As per Ela's usual, I got curious and made my research of what sublimation is. I also watched youtube videos and shockingly, I wanna do it too.

So, I was like, my birthday is approaching. Maybe this would be a good gift but, would husband approved? I looked up what I needed to start a sublimation project. Went to ebay, because why not? Amazon was acting krung krung lately, and I did not want to deal with them right now. Back to ebay - I looked and looked and found this one then added to cart. Just so I won't lose it. 😉 Looking at the cart, my thoughts were fighting whether to tell dear husband about this or not, LOL. It ain't small for me to be able to hide it. It ain't cheap either, but I really want it. And since I am a nice person, 😉 I decided to tell him about it including the dilemma of almost not telling him. 😂 I gave him two options: either we pay it full now, or we get it thru financing. He can't say nuh-uh!
Next day, my birthday, I told him my plan. He asked me to give him more info and then we will talk about it when he gets home. So I sent him youtube videos about it. No reply. 😬 Even if I am an atheist, I got my fingers crossed and hoping he will approve. And my mind was "If he says, not right now. I guess not right now." After all, expenses like this is a couple's decision and we have to both agree on it to get it. HE CAME HOME... He did not say yes, but he seemed to be convinced that it will be a good addition to our craft/ hobby. I was waiting for him to say, go on buy it. Nothing. So, before bed I asked him if we were gonna buy it. He smiled, and probably waited about 30 seconds before he said YES. YAAAAAAY! Bought it together with the other things we needed before I went snooze. It said, 4-6 days to deliver. That's nothing, time flies like crazy these days. While we were waiting for it to get here, Steve had been continuously watching sublimation videos and one time he said, "I feel like I am gonna get creative with this." Haha, happy birthday then!
The day had come, the moment we have been waiting for. The sublimation printer is here! It arrived noon. We did not have a heat press because initially we thought of just using an iron. But realized we needed specific temperature and timer. So he went back to work after lunch and I looked online for heat press, as per husband's advise. I found a heat press bundle on Joann's website and they have a couple in stock in their store near us. When Steve got home, we drove to Joann's and bought the heat press. He unpacked both.
Here they are:

While he was unpacking, I was preparing dinner. We ate and they played videogames after. So I thought, maybe we will try this out tomorrow. Uhmm, I was wrong, almost 11:00, he asked me what will be our first print. Before bed, we made our first print, but he has the picture and he hasn't sent it to me yet. I'll include the photo next time. It is already 11:56 pm, and I am ready for bed. Before I end this article, here are the links of the things I bought on ebay: 1. Brand New Epson EcoTank ET-2720 Wireless All-in-One Inkjet Printer White
And the Cricut EasyPress 2 12X10 Bundle at Joann's.
Thank you!!!
